I’ve been a woodturner since 1998. In addition to simple one-piece bowls and platters, my interests include segmented turnings, decorative effects, sculptural pieces, and more. I strive to have variety in my work and am always on the lookout for new ideas to try. Woodturning is my passion, not my job. People often ask me, particularly about my segmented work, how long it takes to make a piece. I tell them that the time required is meaningless; I enjoy the process so much that I deliberately make it take longer than it has to.
In addition to being a woodturner, I’m also an old-time fiddle and banjo player and occasional square dance caller. Life is good.
